There are many health topics that interest me that have afflicted my family throughout my life. Diseases like cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and sickle cell just to name a few, have plagued my family for decades. Even as strides in research have been made on the afore mentioned diseases. I feel there is a long way to go. My maternal grandmother and aunt both passed way due to cancer, and my father has been battling multiple-myleoma cancer for almost six years, he was in remission for about six months but there is no cure. Sickle cell affected my daughter as she had to witness her best friend battle the disease but sadly, she succumbed to it their freshman year in high school.  It was very heartbreaking to witness, but more devastating is there is no known cure. I believe these health topics need to be addressed so cures can be found.
