You will see that I’ve uploaded a link on Moodle that directs you to a video called “The Story
of Stuff.” Please take some time to watch this video and answer the question below. Your
answer should be about 300–400 words, or about a page or two. Follow the formatting
guidelines for essays that can be found in the syllabus. You can turn in your assignment via
email by midnight on Monday, April 29th
. Extra credit will be awarded to anyone who puts
in a good faith effort to complete the assignment.

1) After watching the documentary, choose one part of the “story” to focus on. Using the
theoretical tools we’ve developed throughout the semester, analyze the various agents
(individuals and institutions) that are implicated in that part of the story. What are
the actions of said agents that perpetuate that particular “cog” in the “machine?” Why
do said agents act in such a way (again, using the theoretical tools we’ve developed for
the analysis)? Is it possible to disrupt this part of the story by changing said agents’
actions? If no, why not? If yes, what is a possible strategy for doing so?
